The Day Centre
In addition, Kinder Paradise runs a day centre for street children in Accra. This offers the children the possibility for hygiene, spiritual support, and health care. All children are given two meals a day. Instructions are given in the basics of arithmetics, writing, reading, and craft skills, such as the making of rattan furniture. The furniture is made for our own use but would also be offered for sale. By means of this action, some of the street children will receive training that will give them a source of income in the future. The profit from the manufacturing of furniture should then flow back into the project.
